Jenny Callao McColl

Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor

I am an Idaho native and have been a practicing counselor since 1998. I have a general psychotherapy practice where I work with individual adults and couples. My approach to therapy is client-centered and solution-focused. I assist clients to identify and access their strengths, and to obtain the tools to help manage life's challenges. The counseling relationship is key in allowing clients to feel safe enough to take some risks, to discover new things about themselves, or to re-discover things they may have lost along the way. I assist clients with managing depression and anxiety, coping with stress, dealing with life transitions, building self-esteem, surviving grief and loss, helping to define or redefine life's purpose, and working with individuals and couples to build communication and relationship skills.

We each have a unique story. We can't rewrite the past chapters, and there are a lot of things over which we have no control. However, we can take the first step to take control over the choices we do have, to start taking an active role in writing our stories and understanding that our past does not have to determine how our lives turn out. Through therapy, changing thoughts and behaviors are a positive step toward gaining insight into what feels true and allows us the peace and courage to start living our lives in the most authentic way.
